Beacon Athletics Diamond DaVincis

Let's talk ballfields.

This podcast is dedicated to the artistry and science of sports field management. Diamond Davincis celebrates the men and women in the sports field industry whose fields are their canvas. This podcast will discuss ballfields and their artists at all levels — from the little leagues to the bigs, and everywhere in between. From time to time we may venture into the world of football and soccer groundskeeping. Golf? Forget about it! They have their own shows. We hope to educate, inform and entertain you with interviews from around the sports field management industry. Give your mind a break while working on your fields and give us a listen. Meet the Hosts

Yes, by the time you hear this the World Series has been completed – but we still wanted to release a World Series podcast. Join us on this special edition where we interview Bill Deacon (Head Groundskeeper, New York Mets) and Trevor Vance (Head Groundskeeper, Kansas City Royals) – we talk to them about the extra excitement, the extra fan-fare and the extra work (that’s all worth it in the end).

All’s World Series that ends well (November 4, 2015)

You know how it ended – but when we recorded this episode we didn’t! This entire episode is devoted to all things World Series 2015. We have a special dual Outta the Park interview where we talk first with Bill Deacon (Head Groundskeeper, New York Mets) and then Trevor Vance (Head Groundskeeper, Kansas City Royals). We ask them about what’s so different and challenging in hosting such a major event, how it differs from the All Star Game (which they’ve both hosted recently as well), and what they are enjoying about the experience. And at the end of the podcast we learn that Paul is not very good at maintaining objectivity so we chuck all premise of it out the window and discuss who we were rooting for!

Segments: Outta the Park

Guests: Bill Deacon (Head Groundskeeper, New York Mets), Trevor Vance (Head Groundskeeper, Kansas City Royals)
