Chick Chicky Boom (April 20, 2016)
Yes sir, I’m Cuban Pete
I’m the king of the rumba beat
When I play the maracas
I go chick chicky boom, chick chicky boom, chick chicky boom
This week we are truly feeling the Cuban beat and can’t wait to dive in to our Outta The Park interview with Al Capitos (Sports Turf and Maintenance Superintendent, Purdue University) who was part of the first MLB-Cuban exhibition game in 1999. He tells us all about his amazing trip including a very surprising beginning to his journey that happened before he even left the Baltimore airport.
But first we start the show with a little Bullpen Session where we follow up on the unexpectedly high phosphorus test results Paul received at his minor league fields. Then we finish things up with some Turf Science, or at least a little weed science as it relates to turf – some broadleaf weeds are particularly difficult to control but there are a few strategies to consider that can make it a little easier for you.
